Statement
-
My name is Laurent Guyolot, I am a french self-taught sculptor with an international education gained from Carrara to Los Angeles.
I mainly recycle hard stones that are leftovers from quarries or marble industries, selected for their quality and originality.
I play with the colours of the stones, their hardness and chemistry using them as characteristics to embody our emotions, dreams and feelings.
My game is using the particular energy of each stone to unlock the surrealistics expressions of our oneiric worlds.
Thanks to totemic figures that are anchored to the ground or aerial entities barely touching it, I play with space in harmonious relations to elevate our senses towards the spiritual and universal spheres.

Born in Orléans, Laurent Guyolot began with wood and soft stone figures which got into private collections.
Then by Besançon he joined the artistic collective Arcadia.
From 2001 he got a unique experience in Carrara : exploring sculpture in various studios, carving in immersion in nature or on the top of a marble mountain.
He composes his pieces as allegorical poetries of life. He uses the pseudonym "Enzoyote" as a mark of his unusual creative ways.
Enzoyote sculptures are now present in Europe, from Scotland to Spain, in Switzerland, in the USA and Asia private collections.
